Triptych

Why is this a tryptych? I thought of the surface of the gourd as 3 planes (front and 2 sides) and the image is an illusion. While the lines of the stairs and floor look straight-they are actually drawn at an angle downwards and distorted to create the appearance that it is straight when viewed from the front. Here you can see the severe angle that the lines are drawn - this is drawn distorted so that when viewing from the front from a specific point it gives the viewer an illusion - that the perspective is correct and the lines "appear" straight.
